ROSS LOUIS KLEIN – Writer/Director/Editor

Ross Louis Klein came out of the womb wanting to make movies.  Born and raised in New York, he studied filmmaking during high school at summer programs at the New York Film Academy in Manhattan, and the School of Cinema and Performing Arts in Brooklyn.  As an undergraduate, he continued his film education at Emerson College in Boston, MA, where he graduated with a BA in Film Production.  There, he wrote, directed, produced, and shot over a dozen short films, including “Are We Straight?” – winner of the Audience Award and Best of Emerson at the Campus Movie Fest 2008.  After completing “The Shifty Planet of Dr. Strange,” Ross relocated to Los Angeles to further his career in film.

JULIE HOOK – Producer/Assistant Director

Born and raised in New Jersey, Julie Hook found a love for film making in her high school’s digital media class.  Going on to study film at Emerson College in Boston, she then honed and directed her passion towards producing narrative films.  In Boston, Julie spent her time producing dozens of student short films, and is now continuing her studies in Emerson’s Los Angeles Program.  Currently in Los Angeles, she interns at River Road Entertainment, and is preparing for Graduation in May!

ROBERT WATERS – Producer

Hailing from our nation’s capital, Mr. Waters plans to graduate from Emerson College in May 2012 with a major in Film Production.  Waters’ love for movies began at a early age and he has studied and practiced the craft with joy for the last eight years.  Currently residing in Los Angeles, Waters looks ahead to what the future holds in a constantly changing industry.

SAMANTHA VAIL – Writer, Original Short Story

Samantha Vail is from Hillsborough, New Jersey, where she began her storytelling career dictating stories to her parents before she knew how to write.  With a passion for science and the bizarre, Samantha’s stories often center around the unusual; from a boy who explodes into a supernova, to a mother personified through an octopus, Samantha’s stories are laced with dark humor and have a refreshing take on classic themes.  Samantha studied at Emerson College, where she met fellow student and friend, Ross Klein.  The Shifty Planet of Dr. Strange has always been her favorite piece, and Samantha was happy to lend Edward Kelly and his conspiracies to Mr. Klein.  His adaptation put a new spin on the story, and Samantha was exhilarated to see Ross’ interpretation of her work.  Samantha currently lives in Los Angeles, where she continues to write and is currently compiling a book of her short stories to be published.  She is also working on adapting several stories into short films to be shot in 2012.

BENJAMIN A. GOODMAN – Director of Photography

Ben Goodman began shooting films in the seventh grade. During high school he attended film programs at American University and the New York Film Academy.  He is currently studying cinematography at Emerson College in Boston, MA.  He recently worked under cinematographer and Emerson alum Shane Hurlbut, ASC.  His work has screened at a number of film festivals, winning awards at the Campus MovieFest Northern Regional Grand Finale and the Williamsburg International Film Festival.  His most recent work was featured on major music blogs, including Pitchfork.com and Stereogum.com.  He currently freelances as a director, cinematographer, editor, and VFX artist.

SEAN THORNTON – Composer

A graduate from Berklee College of Music’s Film Scoring major (with a Video Game Scoring minor), Sean Thornton is a composer, producer, sound designer, and drummer with a true passion for all things audio.  As a freelance composer, Sean has composed professional musical scores for film, television and games since 2009.  After graduating and starting his own business, Art Shape, Sean relocated to Miami where he currently creates and implements sound effects for video games at Moon Spider Studio. He takes his coffee black as midnight on a moonless night.

MICHAEL HITCHCOCK – Actor, Edward Kelly

Michael Hitchcock grew up in Pittsfield, MA.  He finished most of an Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts – Music before taking off to live as an itinerant farmer/laborer in Western Europe for two and a half years.  Towards the end of that time, he rediscovered his love for the performing arts and when he moved back to the states, he finished his degree and began auditioning again in earnest.  He is now living in Brooklyn, NY where he is pursuing a career in acting, working on getting his third short story published, and where he takes on other odd jobs when convenient to those goals.

DAVID RYAN KOPCYCH – Actor, Warren French

David Ryan Kopcych is a former professional line dancer (yes, line dancer) from Taunton, MA who retired from dancing in 2005 after a knee injury made him re-evaluate his career choice.  A few short years later David made his film debut in “The Miskatonic Acid Test.” David has since acted in dozens of short, student, and independent films.  His credits include lead roles is the award winning films “Love Hurts” (Experimental Short –2010 Los Angeles Movie Awards) &  “Shanked” (Award For Merit – 2010 Accolade Awards).  In 2011 David made his debut behind the camera, writing and directing two short films.  David is planning on moving to Los Angeles in the summer of 2012 to further pursue his career in the film business.
